"Women of Destiny: Celebrating the Relief Society Declaration" is a presentation of sacred music and the spoken word by Elise Adams. Each song is written for women and about women in the Gospel today. Every quote and story shared is from the scriptures, our prophets and general Church leaders, with Relief Society sisters in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in mind.
I created the "Women of Destiny Enrichment Presentation" for two reasons. First, I have a deep and firm testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Today, motherhood and womanhood can be quite difficult at times. Regardless of the difficulty, I have a firm testimony of the divine destiny of women and I want to share that testimony. I hope to remind women of their divine destiny as women, as mothers and as sisters in Zion through the Spirit of the Lord.
Second, despite an impressive resume from years past, I have chosen my current "center stage" to be a full time mother and wife. As much as I would love to find a way to mix theater and full time motherhood, it hasn't happened. However, I have been given a musical gift from my Heavenly Father. It's a gift I don't want to waste. In my youth I was able to use this gift frequently, but as I mentioned before, I've found it difficult of late. I created this presentation of songs for women because I want to build the Kingdom of God, as a mother, as a woman, and as a Relief Society sister, but also as a performer.
I would be honored to come to your ward Relief Society and share this spiritual presentation for women during an Enrichment activity. "Women of Destiny: A Celebration of the Relief Society Declaration" is approximately 40 minutes long. With your ward Relief Society's opening exercises and a closing prayer it will be about an hour meeting; perfect for a Relief Society Enrichment event.
